That’s for all my Amurican friends who read this blog. These photos were taken on Canada Day. Actually, they were taken Canada Day Eve, because for some reason, fireworks were a day early this year.

This is Katie and her cousin who you’ll probably be seeing a lot more of over the next month or two, because they’ve volunteered to be models, “anytime.”

Ah, the foolishness of youth.

Keisha at Sunset

Remember than puddle I showed you the other day? Here’s some pictures taken with an actual person in the actual picture. In this case, Keisha, who I took photos of back during the Foodbank Fundraiser.

Medicine Hat Model Shoot

Filed under Model, Portrait • Written by Trent @ 6:22 pm

This one’s a bit of an odd one to label, as it is my idea, my idea and my location but it is Darin’s model, Darin’s camera and Darin who is actually pushing the trigger. So no, I didn’t take the picture, but I did make the picture, so to speak.

This shoot was done back when I was in Medicine Hat last summer, and was me trying to work out some of my concepts around some ideas that I’ve been working on.

The model is a professional doctor and a former model (brains and beauty) who braved the chill wind stalwartly. She’s also terrified of heights, so getting her out onto that point was a matter of facing down her fears.

Bridal Session: Jade

Something I am going to be offering next year will be bridal sessions, where the bride gets all gussied up on a day pre or post-wedding and we go out and take pictures with no pressure to make it back in time for the reception.

This was a post-wedding session. A few years post, actually. I wanted to work out some visual ideas and Jade, whose wedding was the first I shot in a semi-professional capacity (professional because they paid me money to do so, semi because she’s my niece and didn’t really have much choice in the matter), volunteered to help me. Silly me chose to do it on the day of my daughter’s birthday party, so I still had to hurry to make it back and the one shot I wanted to get, I didn’t. Still, I think I got some amazing images, and plans are afoot to do another one of these with her next year….

Shot a little late in the day. Like, a ten second exposure or something silly like that.

And a few alternates.

I went to show someone these pictures, and discovered much to my chagrin that I hadn’t posted them. A month late, but better than nothing.

I haven’t done an awful lot of playing around with textures, but a friend of mine had a texture that they just shot, so I decided to give it a go. I like. You?

Steph

Took these photos a couple months ago, while I was in Medicine Hat, but have been a bit busy, what with the books and a bunch of actual weddings and portraits….

This is Steph. Steph is a friend of a Aimee, and who was actually at the same shoot. You might recognize the backdrop.

Darin had some stuff in the back of his van that was heading off to recycle. One of the things there was an old picture frame. Well, I couldn’t let that go to recycling without pressing it into service….

Aimee

While I was down in Medicine Hat, Alberta, me and a friend who is also a photographer went out on a model shoot with a pair of gorgeous models. It was kinda cold and windy and starting to rain, so we didn’t get to stay out as long as we liked, but I got some great photos of the two of them. Here’s the first bunch of Aimee. Expect some of Steph when I get some time to work on them. Next week maybe. Life is pretty hectic right now.
