I tend to wind up behind the camera more than in front of it, but while shooting a wedding with Mark Pawlyszyn (whom I have described at various turns as a mad genius, shorter than he looks and incomprehensible, mate (bloody Australian accents; so hard to understand in noisy rooms).
Anyway. He wanted to check his lighting, and I just happened to be standing there, wearing a reflector on my head.
Thanks Mark. I shall treasure it always.

Bree. Being Bree. Again.

Another picture from the drive through Banff, though this is actually Jasper. The Athabasca River, in fact. It’s like a highway. Straight and wide and loud.

On the drive home from Banff, I hit the big mountains at the top of the Icefields Parkway just as the sun was coming up. And no traffic meant I could take longish exposures from the middle of the road….

I published a photo of Cow Lake looking the other way, but realized I hadn’t gone through and tweaked this one yet.

Our mascot for the Kispiox trip.

Before we hit Kispiox we played the Alpenhorn in Smithers. Here’s a decapitated Blaine on the stairs behind the pub.

From the same evening on the way to Kispiox. We were discussing photography and taking pictures of the night sky, and so I took one, just to show how it was done. Trees are lit by the evening’s fire.

On the drive to Kispiox we stayed at Bear Lake Provincial Park. We got there just before sunset, which was spectacular. Of course, as I made the way along the dark shoreline, I stepped into the water a couple times, but the shots I got were worth it.
