PAD: August First, Plus come play along
Okay, I’ll be saying a lot about Caylee when I start posting images from her wedding in a few days, but let it stand right now that you could probably plug her in and power a small city on her force of personality, or simply light a dark night with that smile.
This year, I figure I shouldn’t be the only one to have fun doing this, so I’m inviting people to play along. You can do a Portrait a Day, a Portrait a week, go out and take a portrait of your favourite person, or just go accost some stranger on the street.
Of course, I can’t ask you to play along without having something to show for it, so I invite you to send me MAXIMUM ONE PORTRAIT A DAY using yousendit.com. Send me the full-size image, and I’ll post it to the blog. Then, at the end of the month, I’ll take my favourite Portrait (as determined by my whim, my wife’s input, and any bribes you wish to pass my way), and print that picture out at 12X18 (or the closest size that works) and have it framed and send back to the winning photographer. I’m also working on getting a few more prizes, but this was kinda a spur of the moment contest, and the goodie bag is kinda empty.
THE RULES
One Portrait a Day Max
They have to be taken THAT DAY or the day before; no shots you took six years ago.
Photos will be judged on the story they tell and the character they capture. Technical goodness will probably help, but I’m not going to judge based merely on technical merit
PROs are not eligible for the prize. Heck, pros probably can print their own darn picture. However, if you want to play along (Darin, Mark, Don), feel free to join the fun.
This contest is aimed at people within the Peace region, but is not exclusive to it. If you’re a photo contest junkie, please, refrain, but if you’re a bride from Kelowna looking for a unique photographer and want to play along, feel free to enter. Also, feel free to contact me for a price list. I’d love to get down to the Okanagan for a few weddings next year…
More? Probably, but they basically can be summed up in two words: Play nice. If you need any clarification, feel free to comment or send me an email, and I’ll clarify on the blog.
That’s about it. Happy shooting. Ted, Alice, Dakota, Susan …I expect to see photos from you.

Gorgeous. I can’t get over her eyes and that smile. She’s really happy here, you can tell. I’m so excited to see the rest!
